Internship in the Finance & Administration unit for GIZ Rwanda
Background
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federally owned international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. The GIZ Office in Kigali covers GIZ’s portfolio in Rwanda and Burundi. GIZ Rwanda/Burundi implements projects on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Union and other commissioning authorities in the following priority areas: Sustainable Economic Development; Good Governance; Climate, Energy and Sustainable Urban Development; Digitalization and Digital Economy; and regional projects in the Great Lakes Region.

Tasks and areas of support
Review and verify supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.Accounting and receivable management supportOrganize, file, and maintain financial and administrative documents in both physical and electronic formats.Provide logistical support to program activities, including coordination with vendors and attendeesCollaborate with team members to create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial and administrative processes for the cluster and entire portfolioEngage in conceptual tasks related to process improvement, compliance, and documentation.Support the optimization of commercial processes and documentation, following best practicesAssist in developing and maintaining digital knowledge management systems for the cluster/portfolio, including processes, documents, and responsibilities.Supporting monitoring & evaluation activities, e.g. data collection, data entry, designing data collection tools and reportingSupport technical advisors in programme management activities, e.g. proposal writing, monitoring of activities, stakeholder managementperforms other duties and tasks at the request of management
Required Qualifications, Competences and Experience
QualificationsCurrently enrolled or recently graduated (< 6 months) in a bachelor’s degree programme in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related fieldAdditional competencesProficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.) and accounting softwareAbility to think critically and contribute to process improvement and SOP development.Excellent organizational and time management skillsFluency in Kinyarwanda and English, good knowledge in French is an added advantageWillingness to learn on the job and ability to deal with constructive feedback Other preferencesWorking experience in the area of financial management, procurement, logistics, process developmentPrevious experience with a multinational organization or NGOMaster’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage
