Job Summary:

The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing and maintaining the inventory of materials, tools, and equipment at the construction site. This includes ensuring proper storage, accurate record-keeping, timely issuance of materials, and coordinating with procurement and site teams. The role plays a key part in ensuring smooth project operations by maintaining efficient stock control and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, tools, and equipment to ensure they match purchase orders and specifications.Maintain an organized and secure storage area, ensuring items are stored safely and efficiently.Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.Material Issuance and Tracking:Issue materials and tools to site personnel as per requisitions, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.Monitor and track material usage to avoid wastage and shortages.Coordination and Communication:Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of required materials.Liaise with site teams to understand material needs and update them on stock availability.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and stock reports.Maintain proper documentation for all material movements, including receipts, issues, and returns.Safety and Compliance:Ensure materials and tools are stored in compliance with safety standards and regulations.Identify and report any damaged or defective items to the Site Manager promptly.

Other Duties:

Assist in managing site logistics related to materials and equipment.Support the Site Manager in tasks related to inventory and material management as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (essential); a diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.3+ years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction industry.Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.Understanding of safety standards and procedures for material storage.Good communication and teamwork skills.Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving of materials when necessary.
